Diane Charno, executive vice president of marketing and communications for the Greater Myrtle Beach Collaborative, has earned the Certified Destination Management Executive designation from Destinations International.

The CDME is the tourism industry’s highest individual educational achievement. Designed for experienced destination professionals, the program focuses on the leadership, strategic thinking and business management skills needed to guide destinations and the organizations that serve them.

Charno completed coursework over several years in areas including destination leadership, advocacy, community relations and strategic issues. She completed the program’s final exam in August 2026. The certification reflects her commitment to continued learning and strong destination leadership.

The designation places Charno among a select group of destination professionals worldwide who have completed the advanced program.

Her achievement also reflects the Greater Myrtle Beach Collaborative’s commitment to developing leaders who can navigate a changing tourism industry while strengthening connections among visitors, businesses and the community.
